Dr. Robert Fox, OD, FCOVD Is Heading To Mexico On His 4th Mission Trip!

| January 14, 2018

Latham, NY- January 13th, 2018, In a few weeks, Dr. Robert Fox OD, FCOVD, owner of Fox Vision Development Center in Latham, NY, will be heading to Gomez Palacio, Mexico with two of his vision therapists. The goal of Dr. Fox’s team is to provide vision care and eyeglasses to the underprivileged people of this city.

Since 1971, Voluntary Optometric Service to Humanity ( VOSH) has been sponsoring missions to counties all over the world. This mission to Gomez celebrated its 41st year and is one of the longest continuous missions of its kind. The VOSH of South Dakota is the primary sponsor of Dr. Fox’s upcoming mission trip.

Dr. Fox states, “The look on the face of a child seeing clearly for the first time is priceless.” He hopes to help about 1000 patients and to distribute about 2000 pairs of eyeglasses as his team did last year.

The need for vision care cannot be underestimated. Uncorrected vision accounts for over 40% of the world’s vision impairment. In addition, corrected vision can improve worker productivity by 20%. For school-age children, uncorrected vision can result in learning problems and poor school performance.

Dr. Robert Fox and his team plans to leave Gomez tired, but happy with the work that they will accomplish. Dr. Fox says with a smile,  ” We will make new friends and hope to return next year to help even more people see clearly and improve the quality of life for people living in Gomez.”  If you would like to help Dr. Fox, please donate to vosh.org, or stop by and drop off some old glasses at Fox Vision Development Center located at 1202 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham, NY. All donations are greatly appreciated. For more information about Dr. Fox’s practice please visit www.FoxVisionDevelopment.com
