Here are the top 10 reasons to get a back-to-school comprehensive eye exam…

#10. 15 out of the 18 ADHD symptoms can also indicate a vision problem.

#9. If your child has difficulty copying from the board in school or has inconsistent spacing when writing, it could be due to an undetected vision issue.

#8. During the school year, you experience the nightly “homework battles”. 20 minutes of homework should not take two hours.

#7.   Children can pass a school vision screening, have 20/20 visual acuity, and report that they see words float, pop or even move on a page.

#6.  All children should have their peripheral vision checked before heading back-to-school. Poor peripheral vision can affect reading, writing and attention.

#5.  An assessment of eye teaming, eye focusing and eye movement abilities are essential, as you need your two eyes to work well together (as a team) to sustain one clear image.

#4. 1 in 4 children struggle with an undiagnosed visual issue.

#3. Children may not even realize that they have a vision problem because they think everyone sees the same way they do. It could look like this..

#2. 80% of learning in school is visual! That’s HUGE for a child!

#1. Seeing 20/20 is just one of the 17 visual skills needed to be successful in school, at work, and in sports!

Please make it a priority to have your child’s vision evaluated before school starts.  Not all children with vision issues struggle in school. Some children just work A LOT harder than they need to. A comprehensive eye exam = success in school!  If you have any questions, we are always available to help at Fox Vision Development Center 518-374-8001.
